Well, hello there!

“Just write it, already!”  I’ve heard that phrase, or something resembling it, from more than one of the cheerleaders in my life during the last few weeks.  “But the first post sets the tone for the entire blog”, I protested.  “That’s just too much pressure.”

But here we are.  The first post.  Setting the tone.  Or not. That IS too much pressure!

I’ll tell you what I’d like to do.  Can I just share my heart with you for a few minutes and tell you why I started this blog in the first place and what I hope it accomplishes? Yes?  Good.  Have a seat, get cozy and go ahead, pour yourself a cup of tea.

This is a blog by a girl who loves God.  Oh don’t get me wrong.  That doesn’t mean I live a perfect life or have it all together.  On the contrary.  My life is messy, like yours.  I make mistakes daily, sometimes even more often than that.  My goal is to love God and love people.  Through His grace and mercy alone this is possible and every day He is teaching me how.  I thought you and I might have some of the same struggles and questions and could walk through this together.  Life is messy!

This is a blog by a girl who loves her family.  I’m a wife, a momma and a grandma.  (I’m also a sister, daughter, cousin, aunt, niece and friend – you know friends really are just family we get to choose).  That’s a lot of relationships.  Relationships between imperfect people breed, guess what? Imperfect relationships.  I thought you and I might have some of the same struggles and questions and could walk through this together.  Did I mention life is messy?

This is a blog by a girl who loves shiny things.  No I don’t mean just bling and baubles.  (But I’m certainly not excluding those!) I’m talking about things that catch my interest, sometimes for just a moment and sometimes for a lifetime.  What are some of those things?  Good books, all things tea related, DIY projects, learning to be a good steward of all God has given (no, not just money!), creating, exploring, and cooking! This world is filled with shiny things for us to enjoy.  I have to remember though, well, I usually have to be reminded after a rabbit trail, and maybe you do, also, to not let the shiny things of the world distract from the most important gift of all – Jesus.  I thought you and I might have some of the same struggles and questions and could walk through this together.  Did I mention life is messy?

So there you have it – the first post.  What’s the Cliff’s  Note version of this?  This is a blog by a girl exploring her faith, her family relationships and her love of life with you!  Wanna come along? I can only promise you one thing – it is gonna be messy!

All In! (Part 1)

Here we are at the start of a new year. A new beginning. What a great time to refocus our heart and mind. Romans 12:1-2 says: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present
